About The Spade Oak and Bourne End
The Spade Oak in Bourne End is a traditional village pub offering great food, friendly service, real ale and a great outside eating area for warm days and evenings. The Spade Oak started out as Spade Oak Farm, a picturesque collection of barns and out-buildings. Sometime in the 1920s the barns were transformed into 'The Spade Oak Hotel', a delightful country hotel.
Places of Interest around Bourne End
Apart from our proximity to Cookham and the Henley to Windsor section of the Thames Path, we are on the popular Buckinghamshire's Midsomer Murders trail with many trail finders dropping in for a pint of real ale. We also used to be neighbours of author Enid Blyton; she lived next door at Old Thatch where the gardens are now open to the public during the summer.
